And now, the 4th and final thing that every artist needs for the new year.
- You’ve identified your goals (Pt1)
- Those goals include an eyecatching businesscard (Pt2)
- Your business cards include your website where you can share and connect with others (Pt3)
The fourth thing: You need to know what God’s promises are concerning His artists.
An artist or designer who has a convenant with God through Jesus Christ has certain privileges, access and assurances that only a life in Christ can give.
A purpose and plan for your talent, guidance when times as an artist get tough, divine connections and open doors, and support when those doors seem shut. All of this is written in God’s word, but it is a secret if you don’t know what it says.
Just like knowing the details of a contract tell you what entitlements and protections you have, familiarizing yourself with God’s word does the same for the artist that has accepted Christ.
To help, feel free to download our special report: “7 Biblical Scriptures for Artists”. It can get you started on knowing what God’s word says about your life as an artist or designer.

i would also suggest that a community of artists (or at least an artist or two) that you can bounce ideas off and get helpful (and perhaps even demanding or challenging) input and critique from is crucial. while you point out some important things about the business of being an artist (whether commercial or gallery or educationally based), particularly in today’s business economy, these points are quite individualistic.
let us not forget that we function as part of communities, whether those of clients, peers or the general public. indeed, it is what we are called to.

Hey there, helmerman!
That’s great! Yes, the businesscards and website go hand-in-hand.
An old school, yet effective method of driving traffic to your site.

I recently discovered this website, it was a great find at the perfect time. I just finished reading the 4 parts of “What Every Artist Needs to Know for the New Year”. God has a sense of humor. Each of these parts have specifically been on my mind in the last 3 weeks. Thank you for creating this space and keeping it updated. Its refreshing that its written with a value for loving and worshipping God in spirit and in truth.
